I have had every vintage of this wine since I became an Angel and this vintage is right up there with the best of them. Big and bold but definitely not brassy the wine has loads of intense ripe fruit and is as smooth as silk.

Honestly, you can keep your expensive champagnes, this for me is the best fizz on the Naked site. It is consistently good, predominantly citrus fruits with a little melon as well, the bubbles just swirl around your tongue and explode on your tastebuds. Seriously classy wine 🥂

Lovely wine and an absolute bargain at the price! I decanted a couple of hours before drinking and initially paired it with a lemon pepper chicken casserole in white wine and cream sauce which it matched up with beautifully. It then drank very nicely on its own through the evening. Layers of dark red fruit and a nice finish, one to buy again 🍷

The Kookaburra Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

This is a lovely wine now but I get the feeling it will be so much better in 2 or 3 years time hence the 4 star rating for the time being. At the moment it needs plenty of air and a 1 hour decant is nowhere near long enough as the wine drank much better on the second day. When fully opened up it had loads of dark fruit, Black Cherry and Damsons are predominant, smooth as you like and with a long finish that contains a hint of Eucalyptus. Definitely worth squirrelling a bottle or two. A year on from my original rating and I have added half a heart. The wine still wants a long decant but has gained complexity and is opening out nicely releasing its fruit flavours earlier and with less tannins. Blackcurrant is the predominant taste now. I’ve got another bottle in my basket to keep for a bit longer 🍷

Lovely smooth but full bodied wine with plenty of dark fruit on the palate, predominantly blackcurrants and dark plums for me. On the finish there are some herby notes, wild thyme maybe? The wine goes equally well with food or on its own and perfectly captures the flavours of rural countryside 🍷

This is a truly lovely wine, full of complex dark fruit flavours and with a nice bit of spice as well. The fruit develops in your mouth and smooths into a nice long finish. I would have given 5 hearts but I slightly prefer the A La Mano 2019 which is a couple of pounds cheaper, that said this wine is well worth buying.

Dominic Hentall Terra Calda Primitivo 2022

Rated at 4 hearts for now because the wine is so young and needs time to develop. I decanted 4 hours plus before the first glass and the tannins were still very harsh then. 7 hours after decanting the tannins had smoothed and the fruit flavours came out, intense blackberries and black cherries with a smooth finish. Definitely worth hanging onto a bottle for 12 months or so 🍷 ***Update 9/10/24……Added an extra half heart. The 2nd bottle I had of this opened out much quicker than the first although I still gave it a long decant. The intense black cherries and blackberries are still there but the tannins have smoothed considerably. I have 2 more bottles so will be hanging on to these a while longer 🍷

This really is a very nice wine. I drank it over two nights and paired it with peppered roasted chicken breasts, roast potatoes, roasted carrots and broccoli on the second night which really brought it into its own. Big bold dark fruit flavours with a lovely smooth finish. What’s not to like? 🍷

Wild Goose Chase Shiraz Viognier 2021

I really enjoyed the 2020 vintage of this and the 2021 is just as good! Lots of lovely dark fruit, I got blackberries and blueberries with a hint of dark cherry is well. Beautiful smooth wine with oodles of body and that hint of pepper you get from a good Shiraz. Definitely one to buy again. I only wish I had bought two bottles so I could hang on to one for a year or two.
