  • Meet Daryl.... He has been a winemaker for 35 years, with some of his wines even served at the Oscars and Emmys two years in a row!
  • Working as the senior white and red winemaker at Penfolds, his 1986 Penfolds Grange was arguably one of the top 3 Granges ever made - 98 points from Wine Spectator and Robert Parker!
  • Daryl LOVES making (and drinking) Shiraz... It's silky, intense and simply delicious he says and the greatest value of all red wines.

Hello Angels.

If you want a really fun, unique and very meaningful to me, wine to try would love you to get your hands and mouths onto my DRG Barossa Valley Zinfandel/Shiraz from Australia.
Its delicious and a real crowd pleaser to share with fa ily and friends.

Why is it FUN. I dont know of any other winemaker in the world that blends these two varietals together or even has the chance to.

Why is it UNIQUE. Zinfandel is one of the main red grape varieties of California. It was scarcely available in Australia. In 2003 with my experience in California we decided to plant 8 acres in Australia and became at that time the 2nd biggest growers!!

Why is it MEANINGFUL TO ME. I planted these vines with my brother in law, partner and vineyard manager David Marschall. At the time he thought I was a little crazy especially when I asked him to plant them in "old pioneering bush vine style" But he did it for me.

Davey soon after sadly passed away from nasty gioblastoma after two brain surgeries and the strongest fight you could ever give. Pictures are of Davey in the early years of the vines. He was as Aussie as you could get.

If you do help support and give it a try please say a cheers to Davey and a toast to family.. Thats what I always do with this wine.

Just had this to accompany a mid week roast pork dinner. Slightly chilled and allowed to breath for about 90 minutes.. Mrs G can cook, very well. This wine came from naked as a freebe. Thank you very much..

Absolutely superb wine, dark, smooth, dark fruit like black cherry and black berries, a very enjoyable glass of wine to sip slowly by a real fire on a winter's evening and bring warmth back to the soul.

Hi Daryl
Am around the Barossa valley (over from England on a family trip) on the 16th. We’d like to visit your winery if possible?

Loved this wine but the price for me has gone to high for vs. the quality. I have other Naked wines that are as good but cheaper.

I decanted the bottle and my wife and I had a glass each without food. It was okay but not wow! However two days later when we shared the wine with family the body and depth were evident and the initially harshness had softened into a complex mix of enjoyable notes
