About the wine
Au Revoir Monsieur Jones is Katie's homage to her beloved Jean-Marc - a soft, juicy Languedoc red just like he loved to make
-
“Dear Angels, this is my final tribute to my wonderful husband Jean-Marc Astruc who died on the 8th September 2022. It was the eve of the harvest and with the team we decided to make one final vintage for him. Naked immediately said yes they would support me in making this very special wine, which wouldn’t exist without your funding, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart." Katie Jones, Winemaker
-
Katie’s tribute red captures the essence of Jean-Marc’s style - it’s a wine to be shared with a roomful of friends, a table full of food, loud conversation and booming laughter. It’s soft and juicy with everything you’d expect from a classic Languedoc red. With aromas of wild blackberries, spice and unmistakable garrigue herbs on the nose. The palate is bright and intense, with ripe plums, blackberry and fruit cake flavours, complemented by soft tannins and a lovely lift of spice, wild rosemary and thyme on the finish.
-
For every bottle of Au Revoir Monsieur Jones we sell, £1 will be donated to the ‘Ahead of the Game’ charity, who provide free rehabilitation to those diagnosed with cancers, particularly those at risk, vulnerable, or experiencing poverty. It’s a charity Katie discovered around the same time Jean-Marc was diagnosed and it’s close to her heart.
- N.B. This wine is topless, meaning the winemaker has chosen to bottle it without the foil wrap around the top of the cork to save on waste.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Katie Jones
- Katie’s love of wine led her all the way from Leicestershire to the Languedoc where she bought an idyllic vineyard perched half-way up a hill in Tuchan. In 2013 she experienced every winemaker’s worst nightmare when vandals emptied her entire year’s vintage down the drain.
- She turned to us. And 2,500 Angels helped to get her back on her feet - clubbing together to raise over £200k in just 48 hours. Our Queen of the Languedoc was able to start again and has gone on to make some seriously delicious wines, with sparkly awards a plenty.
- Thanks to her beloved Angels, Katie has been able to nab more hilltop vineyards, expand her range and even move her winemaking operation into an old railway station to fit in more barrels. It’s a long way from the 600 cases of wine she made in her garage in 2009!
