Petit Paradis de Qanafar 2018

To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...

We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.

What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.

If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

Deep ruby colour. Bouquet practically non-existent save some vanilla.
In the mouth, a warm, welcoming embrace of milk chocolate and hazelnut.
There's a little backbone of tannin accompanying the soft flavours, which have an appreciable length of staying power.
Shame about the bouquet....4 years ago, I noted .... beguiling floral notes.
However, this is the nicest wine I have tried in quite a while.

Excellent, I asked you to look at Lebanese wines and you came up with some wonderful ones!

Deep with blackcurrant & light spice. Slightly buttery. Another lovely Lebanese red to add to our list!

I had the foresight to open this wine well in advance of drinking it. I also decanted it, which too was a good move. Long in the mouth, yet with soft tannins and a gentle fruitiness. Enjoyed with rump steak, forest mushrooms and intense garlic butter. All in all a happy pairing, though I am sure this is a wine that could be enjoyed without food.

A wine that you really have to pay attention to, decant decant decant, sediment galore but nothing a wine filter and some time in the glassware didn't take care of.

I would also suggest giving it a good glug of air to start, leaving it with some patience will pay off. There are indeed, as other have said, a strong mix of red fruits, tannins and punch to this (expect nothing else from Eddy), but sometime stretching its legs will pay off.

We shared this over a meal in one of our favourite "not unless its a special evening" restaurants, where I was treated to a birthday meal, the bonus being this is a BYOB higher end kinda place :)

If you are looking for something a little different and don't' mind something that bites back a bit at first give it a bash, this is the little brother to the bigger Qanafar but don't let it be overlooked.

It went really well with a mezze meal, I'm looking forward to the next vintage becoming available!
