We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.

What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.

If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

My second vintage of this wine; it's a bit different to how I remembered the 2020 but I've very much enjoyed it nonetheless. A very aromatic wine, with pronounced notes of lychee and fresh blossoms, which reminds me of Gewurztraminer. Very different to Gewurz on the palate though, as this is a very acidic wine, with a sharp, lemony aftertatse. Just as well this wine is a bit off-dry, as I don't think I could enjoy this level of acidity without some sweetness to balance it. THe balance is just right though; refreshing acidity with some tropical passion fruit flavour before the lemon notes kick in. Nice to have a lower ABV (10%) option too.

Liked this quite a bit. Really subtle notes of citrus and lychee, very quaffable indeed! I would give this a 4/5, liked it and it is good stuff.

Hey Stephen,

thanks for the nice review and 3 hearts. It was a hard and harsh year, but it´s maturing really well. Get some more for chrismas. We love it with the classic German Christstollen / fruit loaf. Please also try our other dry whites.

It's like an upmarket cross between an Alsace and a Vinho Verde. Excellent with smoked fish starters.

Hey Nick,

thank you so much for the great review. It really is great with smoked fish, but also thai ande asian cuisine. Have you tried the Cabernet Rosé? If you love fish, this one is a must have.

Excellent smooth wine really liked it. Must be the best German wine out there I can understand why it's sold out..can't wait for the next vintage 😁

Peter Klein Winemaker

Hey Karen,

huu? sold out? Oh no! Hope one of our other wines can step in, probably the Cabernet Rosé would be the best replacement. Enjoy and set the reminder for the new vintage.

10% meant it was very light and refreshing, not a heavy wine

(latest reply 6 months ago)
Peter Klein Winemaker

Hey Anthea,

thanks! You´re right, 10% means there is a chance of some residual sugar, but also vintage 2021 had a nice and crisp acidity. All in one it´s a great and quaffable wine with a refreshing character and the ability to work great as a starter or for desserts and nice cheese platters.

Not to our preferred taste.

(latest reply 6 months ago)
Peter Klein Winemaker

Hey Liam,

we´re sorry to hear that. The off dry style can be tempting, but also already be too sweet for some of the usual dry lovers. Please try our dry ones, especially the new Pinot Gris or the Cabernet Rosé with its dense fruitiness. Please also get in contact with the customer happiness team and they will get you a refund. We want you to find your perfect Klein-Wine.

Thid is really not our glass of wine, lacking in depth of flavour, without body. Frankly it reminds me of wines from Germany in the very early 80s frankly very disappointing. There is also a slight efferveance which makes me wonder if full fermentation had been achieved.

Peter Klein Winemaker

Hey Paul,

we´re sorry that our off-dry style Muskateller doesn´t match you palate. The wine has some remaining sugar to push its ripe and lush fruit. Muskateller usually has a mouth full of wonderful flowery and yellow-fruity aromas. Please get in touch with the customer happiness team and they will get you one of our dry wines. The Riesling or the Pinot Gris should be more to your liking.

cheers Peter
