A lovely wine - fruity, savoury and smooth. I have had every vintage since the 2014, and it always gives great pleasure.

My first vintage of this wine was the 2007, and although it’s not released every year, whenever it is I make sure to grab some. As always, it’s rich, fruity and smooth, with gentle tannins. Lovely!

I have to admit that, after thirteenth vintages of this wine, I’m running out of things to say. I suppose the fact that this was my thirteenth vintage speaks for itself. Quite simply, the best Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc I’ve tasted.

A beautiful balance of fruit (apples, grapefruit, lemon and a hint of peach), rounded off with a long gunflint mineral finish. This was a very enjoyable wine.

Gilo Old Vine Blewitt Springs Grenache 2023

I often feel Grenache is under-appreciated. It’s one of my favourite grapes, and this is a good example. It was fruity (cherries, strawberries and raspberries), balanced by some acidity, and smooth tannins. In a word, voluptuous.

Katie Jones La Gare Fitou 2022

I’ve enjoyed Fitou in the past, where I found it to be an undemanding, easy-drinking wine. This blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah was in another league. It had herbs on the nose, which carried through to the palate, where they were joined by a plum-like fruitiness. It was a lovely, complex and balanced wine.
