Small and Small Pinot Noir 2011

Market Price

To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...

We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.

What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.

If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

bottle rancid (refunded by Naked)

This was our first ever Pinot Noir Christopher and I'm surprised that there's still any around. Really sorry to hear that it was off. Hope you can find something much nicer as a replacement

It was given as a gift, they said it was delicious

Good to hear Yvonne. Did you buy the wine recently? I think the wine was last available on the website some time in 2012 - and I note that you have New Angel alongside your name.

yes I was an Angel, dropped out, re-joined and found I still have a whole bunch of wines to rate. Because we keep these as "special" rather than the daily quaff, I tend to remember them and if I'm able, scribble notes in my wine notebook. I am generally looking for New Zealand wines as an expat Kiwi in London, I never go to friends empty handed and of course push New Zealand wines wherever possible. I also keep notes of winery locations with me, people going on holiday who might appreciate seeing something more hands on than the tour of a huge conglomerate like Montana.

A very nice wine, goes well with Kangaroo Steaks, as that is what I had it with, no nasty after taste, you can really taste the quality of it.

Thanks so much Caroline, thrilled you enjoyed our Pinot. I haven't had a kangaroo steak since we lived in Australia, funny (and delicious) to think of them all the way over in the UK! The new 2013 vintage of this wine is available on the site now, similar style but better fruit I think. Thanks so much for the support.

Awesome drop!

Thanks so much Vicky. I'm afraid that this wine is long gone but the new 2013 vintage is just about on the site. We are really pleased with the new wine and its made in a similar style to our 2011. Thanks so much for the support.

I really enjoy NZ Pinot Noirs and this was no exception. Not quite the intensity of flavour that I have experience with some but still a lovely bottle of wine

(latest reply 1 decade ago)
Bill and Claudia Small Winemaker

Thanks Timothy, glad you enjoyed it. Do give our new 2013 vintage a try when it comes on the site (should be pretty soon). We are really happy with how our Pinot style is developing. Thanks for the support.

Soft, light, fruity, great Pinot noir.

Thanks so much Colin. Did you get a chance to try the 2012 before it sold out? I think our Pinots are definitely getting better each year. The 2013 version of this wine is currently on the boat over to you guys so should only be a month or two away. We had a bottle with our dinner on Saturday night, it was delicious! Anyway thanks for the support and for taking the time to post.

Nice and light and ironically like it a little chilled for my taste.
