About the wine
Taste the Pinot that's kicking up quite the fuss with the Angels in the USA
- This is authentic Russian River Pinot Noir – luscious and sinfully smooth.
- Scott's an expert at making retro-styled Californian wine and Russian River Pinot is one of THE iconic Californian throwbacks. So he knows exactly what strings to pull to make this magic happen.
- Light bodied, with fruity cherry flavours and soft rounded tannins, Scott's Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir has Angels going crazy over in the USA, and now we've managed to wrestle away a few bottles to show you exactly why.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Scott Peterson
- Scott was an integral part of the Kendall-Jackson winemaking team, defining California Chardonnay in the 90s. That Cali Chardonnay style known all over the world as unctuous, ripe, full-throttled.
- He loves working with Angel funding because you let him make the wines he wants to in the way he wants to make them. He's all about old school California and he doesn't want to make a new style of wine just because it's fashionable.
- If you like gloriously rich Californian wine that takes no prisoners, go and buy a bottle (or three) of Scott's wine. You will not regret it.

Smooth PN flavours squeezed into a lush, graceful body. Elegance rather than power, this is a bottle of real pleasure

Sometimes a wine can take you back in time, and this one certainly did...to the first time I tasted a Californian Pinot Noir and found a style of this varietal that I really enjoyed.
Since those days, the variety of Pinots on offer from around the world has increased, and my exposure to and appreciation of the grape has expanded accordingly, but this is a style I still really enjoy.
Fresh, light, fruity...think strawberries and red cherries...a bit of forest floor developing to prop up the whole package, with a nice spicy finish that lingers for ages.
Good stuff.

I drank this bottle only last week
It was delightfully potable and a second bottle would have made my week complete

Pinot Noir sometimes can be hit and miss for me and when one comes along to satisfy every part of my being........then this it.
This is everything in a Pinot Noir i like.... it’s incredible boozy from the first sip, rich and concentrated...... just like the good old Crown and Bear from way back.
Then you have a good old confectionary magic of rhubarb
& custards from the tuck-shop......a little bit cherry in there for good measure.
Then there’s gentle earthy old vine nuances just like the Ben Moven Farm PN by Mr LOTL.
Yet with that all going on it’s as approachable as Santolin Family Reserve Pinot Noir.
As for the nose black cherry and white pepper are the order of play.
Great work Mr Rox 🎸
