About the wine
Wonderfully full bodied Merlot from one of our highest rated winemakers
- If you like the lovely mix of ripe black cherry and bitter red cherry fruit that often typifies Merlot - then you're going to love this full-bodied, ever so slightly butch take on the grape variety.
- Rich, chocolatey and full of punchiness, it leaves you wanting mouthful after mouthful - which is not bad considering it's punching well above its weight in the value/quality stakes.
- Patricio is one of our most highly rated winemakers. You simply can't get enough of him. Which is why we now stock his Reserve collection.

Meet the winemaker - Patricio Gouguenheim
- Back in the 1990s, Patricio had a hunch. And so he gave up his prosperous career as a city banker and spent his life savings on an old vineyard. Luckily his hunch was right.
- Mendoza is the head of Argentina's wine-making country. Very hot days and very cool nights mean buckets of refined, ripe fruit. It's what Argentina does best.
- One of our original winemakers, Patricio supported us at the beginning. And now we support him. And with all that history, he's kindly kept resisting any price hikes.
