Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Marica's made Angels a small parcel of her top-shelf Sexaginta
-
Since joining us, Marica’s been blown away by all the positive Angel feedback she’s received. So to repay your support, she’s made Angels a small parcel of a top-shelf 2018 white that featured in Forbes ‘Best Italian Wines of the Year’.
-
If you love white Burgundy, you’ll love this. Marica’s Monte del Fra Custoza Superiore Sexaginta 2018 is aged for twelve months in old oak before bottling, giving the wine extra body, intense aromas and a luxurious complexity. This is one to save up and bring out on special occasions.
-
An intense golden yellow in the glass, the nose is quite simply incredible, with wonderful floral and fruity aromas of bayleaf, ripe citrus, white flowers, dried apricots, acacia honey and a subtle hint of incense. On the palate it’s elegant and spicy, with all those complex aromas carrying through onto the taste buds where they gently linger for ages and ages.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Marica Bonomo
-
We knew Marica would be a perfect fit for Naked when she joined us back in 2022, and that Angels would love her wines. But to go from a standing start to Winemaker of the Year in just two years is nothing short of extraordinary.
-
Marica is exactly the kind of hard-working, humble but uber-talented winemaker Naked was set up to support. A third generation winemaker, her family have been crafting top-quality Italian wines for 66 years, up in the hills near Lake Garda in the Veneto region. They don’t use pesticides or herbicides, and can paper the walls of their recently renovated, solar-powered winery with so many sustainability credentials and certificates. And by producing only wines that come from their own vineyards, Marica knows the identity and soul of every single grape that goes into them.
-
In recent years, Marica’s wines have started to get noticed in high places, including being named in the ‘Top 100 Wines’ in the world by Wine Spectator. And now she’s topped it all by being named your 2023 Winemaker of the Year. It couldn't have happened to a nicer lady.

Opened to accompany a very special meal of Smoked Eel Souffle, cooked for 2 very dear friends.
Pale lemon in colour, aroma of the seaside.
Flavour of pear, cucumber, walnuts. hmm! Intriguing.
But, felt quite disappointed, even though I did not dislike the wine.
Now; having re-read it's descriptors on his wine-page....
Intense Golden Yellow. No, not at all.
Floral, fruity, apricot, honey aromas. Not what I experienced.
Given the price, I would like a refund.

I have been waiting for the right moment to try this wine. It was not a celebration, quite the opposite as we needed cheering up due to the terrible wet, cold British Summer! I chose Marica's Sexaginta 2018 to try with two of our favourite comfort food dishes, Prawn Thermidor and Pepper Crusted Fillet Steak. The Wine is Full bodied and complex. It has it all, fruit, oak, herbs, spice and a lovely, earthy minerality. You could match this mine to a variety of foods. Personally, i wouldn't drink it with a delicate fish, it was perfect with the above and i wouldn't normally drink white with steak! Also needs to be not fridge cold , as this just kills the wonderful flavours. Quite a revelation. Thank you Marica, you have a quite remarkable palate!

I was a bit disappointed in this, especially after the price I paid for it. I normally buy bottles for a lot cheaper than this, so I was expecting a far superior drink thank my normal bottles. Sorry, I know what hard work goes in to making these bottles of wine, but sadly this just wasn't my taste.

White fish tonight, so this was tonight's choice. It went very well with cod and salad. The wine, though, is outstanding. You can tell it's been sitting in oak for twelve months. It stands out on the nose and palate. Citrus, honey and apricot too. Love the acidity and the finish...it lingers and leaves a lovely mouthfeel.
I don't usually buy the same wine twice, but this one may make me think differently.

Wonderful wine thank you very much Marica.
Pale wine with not so much of a nose but astonishingly bursting with many distinctive flavours - I think you really should try this one!
Long finish.
It will give my lemon sole a good run for its money - could really pair with some strong tastes I think - as Marica notes in the comments below.
Time then to explore the Monte del Fra wines more closely.....
