Moerbei Directors' Reserve 2019

Super wine, got a bargain price in the sale but so good will be buying again as worth the curent price tag. Give a good decant as opens up beautifully. Very well balanced between dark fruits and spice without overpowering with the smooth finish, bonus no heavy tanins here. Normally above my purchase price but will make an exception for this one ! 😋4.5 ❤️

Just superb. It didnt hit me immediately. Didnt slap me in the face with a wow! But every sip, every next sip i just slowly fell in love with the complexity of it and found another flavour i hadnt identifed in the last sip. I'm starting to realise that the best wine is like this. Naked says to decant this and let it breathe for an hour - I say give it at least 3 hours to let it shine.

Punches way above its weight; a great wine an exceptional value

Interestingly I preferred this on day 1 rather than day 2, it tasted a bit thinner/more acidic on day 2. Not the usual style of wine I buy but did enjoy, just a bit expensive for my taste. Good legs and long finish, medium tannins, quite dry.

Ruby coloured with a rounded full body, medium to high acidity, dryness, and medium tannins. Flavours of cassis, black cherry, and strawberry with a candy quality, and notes of leather and tobacco. Balanced with complexity, and a ripeness of flavour. A nice wine.

A full-flavoured wine with dark fruits, smooth tannins and gentle acidity, and a long finish.
Bizarrely, my first vintage of this wine. It won’t be my last.

I'm surprised that this evening's Moerbei Directors' Reserve 2019 is the first vintage of this wine that I've tried. Very remiss of me.
