About the wine
Rich, lush Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Chile's most iconic winemakers
- This is to a mid-range supermarket wine what a monster truck is to a fiat panda. It's a big complex beast of a wine. Oh, and the guy who made it also makes one of Chile's most famous, and expensive wines.
- If you could get hold of one of his famous wines, you'd be paying over £30 a bottle. Luckily for you, you can buy his very own, non-famous, creation from us at a much more reasonable price.
- If you ever wanted to invest in a Naked wine to lay down, this is the one. Jean-Pascal's wines get even better with bottle age.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jean Pascal Lacaze
-
Born and trained in Bordeaux, Jean-Pascal now makes wines in Chile, where he’s become a winemaking legend. Every delicious drop he touches ends up dripping medals and critical acclaim.
-
Back in 2008 when his main client went bust, Angels stepped in to save his bacon, and his vintage. Ever since, he’s been making award-winning wines specially for UK Angels.
-
How good is his kit? Well, in his spare time he also makes one of Chile’s most famous wines – the iconic Domus Aurea Cabernet Sauvignon. It sells for £40 and scores 90+ Parker Points every vintage. That good.

Getting close to Christmas so it's time to indulge a little. And this one slipped down a treat. It more than stood up to a slightly spicy meal of butter chicken curry. Still got another bottle to savour and the 2017 for comparison. Happy days.

Light, and easy of the pallet
Lovely and smooth, enjoyed it by itself watching a good film!
I'm happy I left this for a few years as it is now well balanced. It has a smoothness with a good level of tannin and acidity.
As you would expect there is an abundance of dark fruits. Black cherries most prominent but a good balance of flavours tbh. There is actually a bit of strawberry on the nose surprisingly.

I’m not a red drinker at all but this was very good. I have to admit (don’t shoot me down) but I also added splash to a ragu and wow!!!!
