What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.

About the wine
Blending these two underdogs was a true Katie Jones master stroke
- She needs no introduction... Katie Jones is a longstanding Naked legend and her wines have grown to certified staple status in Angel wine racks. With a little help from our Wine Guy, Ray, Katie set out to make her ultimate white wine.
- A bit like us, Katie is one for the underdog. Fed up with seeing white vineyards in her area being ripped out from the root, she took it upon herself to fight their corner. Discovering and shining a spotlight on underrated grapes is very much Katie's forte, so with her brand new Grenache Gris Grenache Blanc, she has done just that.
- This is a polished, full blend of the two Grenache grapes, that boasts subtle yet crisply defined flavours of green apples, fragrant peaches and apricots. The two grapes create a dreamlike combination of a lightness of touch and a full round texture.

Meet the winemaker - Katie Jones
- Katie’s love of wine led her all the way from Leicestershire to the Languedoc where she bought an idyllic vineyard perched half-way up a hill in Tuchan. In 2013 she experienced every winemaker’s worst nightmare when vandals emptied her entire year’s vintage down the drain.
- She turned to us. And 2,500 Angels helped to get her back on her feet - clubbing together to raise over £200k in just 48 hours. Our Queen of the Languedoc was able to start again and has gone on to make some seriously delicious wines, with sparkly awards a plenty.
- Thanks to her beloved Angels, Katie has been able to nab more hilltop vineyards, expand her range and even move her winemaking operation into an old railway station to fit in more barrels. It’s a long way from the 600 cases of wine she made in her garage in 2009!

Enjoyed with a roast chicken as per Katie's suggestion, and the chicken fat/gravy in particular worked so well with the wine. Balanced rich white, combination of buttery full bodied grapes and crisps acidic notes. Lovely honey and lots of apricot.

Paired this with Katie’s suggestion of roast chicken and it worked really well.
Although this is my first time trying this particular wine, it reminded me very much of the La Gare Blanc which featured on the Naked site some years ago.
