Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
This world-class Cab is your invitation to drink a millionaire's wine at Angel prices
-
Jesse Katz’s resume reads like a rock star’s telephone book. He’s one of America’s hottest young winemakers, whose wines have sold for up to $1 million at auction. But don’t panic. He’s made this top-quality Alexander Valley Cab Sav for us at Angel Prices.
-
Jesse sources his fruit from the best cool vineyard sites throughout Sonoma’s Alexander Valley, where the soils, climate and topography give the grapes a unique combination of richness and freshness. The grapes were all hand harvested and fermented in the best French oak barrels for 24 months at Jesse’s state of the art winery. The result is a classy and complex, yet deliciously rich blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot which hits every pleasure spot known to wine lovers.
-
The aromas just make you want to dive head first into the glass - waves of blackberries, blackcurrants, herbal notes and a subtle thread of vanilla from the oak. The palate is… if we had to sum it up in two words… concentrated decadence. Heaps of dark fruit all wrapped in a glossy sheen and with a power that belies the elegance of the wine. The chalky tannins are heaven itself. But it’s the endless length that impresses most. This is truly world class winemaking that will stand out from any other Sonoma Cab you’ve ever tried.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jesse Katz
-
A winemaking wonderkid who spent his formative years working with legendary names like Bordeaux’s Petrus and Napa Valley’s Screaming Eagle, before becoming America’s youngest head winemaker at just 24, Jesse Katz has been named as ‘One of wine’s fastest rising stars’ by Decanter… and that’s putting it mildly.
-
The definition of a rockstar winemaker, Jesse’s wines have sold for up to 1 million dollars at auction, and he was even named on Forbes ‘30 under 30’ list in 2014, the first winemaker to ever do so. In 2009, he launched his own winery in Alexander Valley - Aperture Cellars - and since then, he’s set the record for highest-rated wine ever produced in Alexander Valley THREE times. While Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate has given his wines the highest-rating in the world three times as well.
-
After riding to his rescue during the Covid pandemic, Jesse’s been making wines for US Angels since 2020, and he’s now thrilled to be able to share his acclaimed Alexander Valley kit with UK Angels too. “Angel support is amazing," says Jesse. "Working with Naked Wines is a wonderful way to be creative and we’re excited about a growing partnership now and in the future.” The feeling's mutual, Jesse. We can't wait to see what you have in store.
