About the wine
Soft and plush Merlot with a rocking redheaded touch
- I've used grapes from three different vineyards, including one elevated site in the Strathbogie Ranges, to make my Rebel Merlot. Each parcel was handled, fermented and matured in oak separately from the others, before finally blending and bottling.
- This is a special wine - I blended it with the Aussie Archangels! Along with the rest of my Rebel range this is a flavoursome wine with that typical Jen Pfeiffer "muscle" along with the softness and plushness that makes Merlot so appealing.
- My Rebel Merlot has a beautiful ruby red, purple colour, with ripe plum and cherry flavours with a touch of mint. It's rich, rounded and smooth with a finish that will keep you coming back for more!

Meet the winemaker - Jen Pfeiffer
- Back in 2012, during a trip to Oz, Sam Plunkett insisted we paid a visit to his friend ‘the girl with the superstar palate’. The bad news was she was busy judging at a wine show but we were patient and the second we finally got to meet Jen, we just knew it was meant to be.
- Energetic, passionate and oh-so talented, Jen grew up in a winemaking family and fell in love with the industry from a young age! She travelled widely, learning her craft at many of the great wineries in France and Portugal before returning to the family winery with a desire to really push the boundaries
- Our ‘Rock it like a Redhead’ star has won hundreds of medals and was also crowned your Winemaker of the Year in 2015 so it’s safe to say she was definitely worth the wait!

Thanks for taking my Rebel Merlot out for a spin, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It does have a lot of lovely fruit flavours, there's plums and berries, nicely balanced with some dried herbal notes and savoury oak. My Rebel Merlot is a Merlot with muscle while still being deliciously easy to drink.
Have you ever tried my Rebel Cabernet Paul? I think you'd enjoy it too, it's another easy drinking red that's perfect for pairing with a home made burger, a steak, or simply on its own. Let me know what you think if you try it :-)

Thank you for the Rebel Merlot love, I'm rocking my happy dance all over the winery, WOO HOO!!! It sure is a smooth operator, my Rebel Merlot is like drinking liquid velvet, it's so flavoursome and smooth, it's very moreish and hard to stop at one glass :-)
I'd love you to try more of my wines Svenja, maybe my Rebel Cabernet will suit your palate as well? It's an easy drinking Cab that's perfect for everyday enjoyment. Lovely to hear from you again and thanks for taking my Rebel Merlot out for a spin, I'm glad you enjoyed it :-) It is a young red, and stylistically I call it a Merlot with muscle, so it really benefits from an hour or two breathing time to help it open up, and soften the tannins on the finish.
I'd love you to give my Rebel Cabernet a go next, it's an easy drinking style of Cab with a super smooth finish. It's great with a steak or burger, or something mushroom based - it loves those earthy flavours. Let me know what you think if you try it!
