About the wine
Stephen's modern Shiraz is elegant and classy

American winemaker Stephen makes some of the New World's most sought after wines. Very unlike the over-done fruit bombs you've come to expect, this modern Shiraz is mega classy.

When we asked Stephen to make us a little side project, he jumped at the chance. He still gets to be his own boss and you get his top-shelf talent at middle-shelf prices.

Ruby red in the glass, this delightful wine is full of mellow dark fruit, spicy black pepper and a smooth taste of smoky oaky warmth
Best before
My Shiraz will really take to cellaring if that's something you'd like to do. It will taste pretty solid when it's released too.
Serving advice
Shiraz has the reputation for sucking up all the oxygen in a room (bottle). I'm sure you know some people just like that. I guess I'm saying that Shiraz might take some time to open up after opening. But please be patient, the upset will soon pass and everything will be smooth and perhaps even mellow. Just like those people you know.
Food match
Over the last year we've really gotten into braising. Liz has a favorite enameled frying pan the really helps set the sear on the stovetop and locks in the flavors when you pop it into the oven for finishing. We even tried it on rabbit, delicious.

Meet the winemaker - Stephen Millier
- Stephen is no stranger to a gold medal or two... but usually his prestigious employers are the only ones in the limelight.
- When Stephen offered to set aside some of his favourite wines and vineyards to make a special range with his name on the label just for Angels, we jumped at the opportunity.
- If you like underdogs, Stephen's your man. He will find the overlooked and under-appreciated and he will take precious care to make sure they grow into big, beautiful wines that deserve more attention.
