Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
This elegant yet crowd-pleasingly fruity red is a little gem of the Haut-Medoc
-
When we went looking for more delicious Bordeaux to line the Naked shelves, this is exactly the sort of wine we were looking for. A first-class red that embodies all the classic characters of great Bordeaux wines but doesn’t break the bank.
-
Made using 100% organically-farmed grapes from the historic Chateau Doyac, this elegant yet crowd-pleasingly fruity Merlot - Cab Sav blend is a little gem of the Haut-Medoc, made by a passionate Bordeaux winemaker.
-
Pour yourself a glass and you’ll be instantly enticed, there’s a lot of secrets lying beneath that dark ruby red colour. As you sniff, you’ll uncover red fruit aromas - cherries, berries and plums - with a hint of oaky spice. It’s soft at first but then evolves powerfully as you sip into a classy, mouth-coating finish with lovely tannins.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Max de Pourtales
-
A passionate Bordeaux-born winemaker, Max gave up a jet-setting career in banking to return to his roots and follow his life-long dream of becoming a winemaker, with his wife Astrid by his side. In 1998, they fell in love with the magnificent Chateau Doyac - a historic estate with fantastic limestone soils and sunny, south-facing slopes - and were soon calling it home.
-
They’ve left their mark over the years, planting new vines and upgrading the old cellars. But the biggest upgrade on the estate came in 2016, when they decided to convert all of their vineyards to organic farming practices. Working with the utmost respect for the environment, Max’s philosophy is to make fine and elegant wines in the style of the greatest Bordeaux.
-
A man of many talents, Max recently took up Brazilian jiu jitsu and is also a keen surfer, you’ll often find him riding the waves with his daughter Clémence - an oenologist who’s also part of the winemaking team at Chateau Doyac. And when he’s not at the beach, he’s riding around the Médoc roads on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Born to be wild, born to be a winemaker.
