Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
This elegant Marsannay Blanc is the perfect marriage between floral and oaky styles of white Burgundy
-
The Bernards have been making superb red Burgundy for over a century but it was only in the 1990s (when Philippe took over the family domaine) that they first started dabbling in making premium whites as well. With wines this delicious, we only wish they’d started sooner!
-
In terms of flavour, this elegant white Burgundy is like the perfect marriage between a Chablis and a Meursault. It has the floral characteristics of a Chablis but with a little dab of oak ageing that gives it a mouthwateringly buttery sensation on the palate.
-
Our top tip for this one (like so many great Chardonnays) is to whip it out of the fridge 10-15 mins before serving to let it warm up a little. It’ll help unlock the whole range of flavours and aromas. Pair it with a nutty French Comté and some good company and you’ll be in heaven.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Virginie and Philippe Bernard
- Virginie and Philippe are a father-daughter duo with winemaking in the blood, it's kind of just what the Bernards do... and you bet they do it well. In 1918 the family bought a small plot of land near Dijon, and now 4 generations down the line, what was once a small family vineyard stretches over 19 hectares.
- Philippe, one of 8, and Virginie, one of 4, both spent their childhoods surrounded by the vines and picking odd jobs in the cellar - it's simply a matter of tradition. But there was no teenage rebellion to be found here - whilst both father and daughter moved away from the family vineyard, Philippe to pursue Oenology and Virginie to work in food, neither could resist returning to the winery and continuing its legacy.
- It turns out the pair make one hell of a team who are utterly dedicated to every last inch of the process, from the vine to bottle. They exclusively use traditional methods of winemaking that they have been honing in the Domaine du Clos Saint-Louis for going on five generations. This is small scale winemaking at it's best.
