Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Big-hitting Chateauneuf de Pape from our man Denis
- Chateauneuf de Pape is in vogue in a BIG way at the moment, so we wanted to make sure we're serving you up with only the best. Enter Denis... without a doubt he's the man for the job, having dedicated his whole career to the love of this particular drop.
- It’s bursting at the seams with dark berries, delicate floral notes, and just a smidge of spice. It's a real big hitter with excellent length that allows your enjoyment of this wine to go on. And on. And on.
- Be warned though, there’s not a lot going around. It’s an increasingly popular appellation so pick up this treasure now because when it's gone, it's gone!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Denis Crespo
- In 2015, a popular winery in the area was in a spot of bother and in need of a helping hand. Denis took up the job of winemaker and turned their old school French winery into a modern business and is already producing some spectacular wines.
- For what he has achieved, he is a very humble man who likes nothing better than a delicious meal with his family and covering some serious distance on his bike. His dream is simply to make fruity, juicy, easy-drinking wines that everyone can enjoy and he is so happy to share them with Angels.
- He was never going to be kept a secret for long and the big dogs of the industry are already cosying up to him with pleading puppy eyes. Trust us, this is just the beginning for Denis and we couldn’t be more excited!

Disappointed by this. Was sour and thing rather than rich and bold as i would expect from a chateauneuf.

😍 Juicy, complex, and versatile with food pairings. Pronounced nose of cooked strawberry evocative of grenache fruit, followed by a more syrah-forward palate ending on a clean black pepper finish. Dense velvety texture, some raspberry, blackberry and red plum, and a pleasant touch of sweet vanilla. Délicieux. (Vivino review 7 Aug '24 ©Jean de Frenchie)

Nothing wrong with it but I preferred other Chateauneuf du Pape available at a similar price point.

Indulgant, sweet currents & cherry. Beautiful after a steak.
