Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Big, unabashed Barolo from the supremely talented Serena Cordero
- You've been crying out for a big, unabashed Barolo for as long as we can remember. And here it is, thanks to the supremely talented Serena Cordero - all the way from the picture-perfect vineyards of Piedmont. This is the REAL top shelf stuff that Italians don't want to give away.
- Known as "the wine of Kings and the King of wines" - this deep, dark and brooding Barolo certainly lives up to its name. Full of deliciously ripe, ruby red fruit flavour, with layer upon layer of caramel-tinged oak and complexity.
- It's no secret that Barolo would normally see you handing over lotsa dosh. But thanks to your funding - you'll only pay for what this wine is worth, and not a penny more. Grab yourself a bottle and go all out with a rich and creamy mushroom risotto, finished with a drizzle of truffle oil. Go on, you deserve it...

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Serena Cordero
-
Serena’s been delighting Angels for years with the top-shelf Italian wines she makes alongside her dad in Piedmont, like Barolo and Gavi di Gavi. Now, she’s also blazing new trails with a set of stunning Moldovan whites that’ve gone gangbusters. We can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve next.
-
Serena knew from an early age she wanted to follow in the family footsteps… ‘I was 7 years old. Probably as a daughter in love with her dad, it was inevitable :-)’. She’s blossomed into a super-talented winemaker and is making her father proud with every bottle she makes.
-
Angel support helps Serena continue her family legacy, creating wines from the very same patch her grandad farmed years ago - and it’s also giving her the opportunity to discover new, off-the-beaten-track wines like her Moldovan gems. That’s why she’s so grateful and proud to share her kit with UK wine-lovers like you.

Beef shin osso buco with parsnip mash and spring greens for lunch today. To match we are having Cordero Barolo DOCG 2019.
It is probably still too young and needed 3h in the decanter and some judicious swishing to tame the tannins! However it was lovely once treated.
It is a pale light garnet barolo with good acidity and mouth-puckeringly austere tannins. Sour red cherry fruit emerges with sufficient air to complement the thyme bay olive leather and tar flavours that are present throughout.
This has had very mixed reviews not helped by the Naked description as big bold and full of red fruit, to suggest it is something similar to an Aussie Shiraz. It is not! It is a serious food wine and a perfect accompaniment to rich fatty red meat if given time to develop. Enjoy your day.

I agree with some other reviews on here. Never had a Barolo that is so thin, and not anything like a full bodied Barolo should be. Not an enjoyable taste and was very disappointed as had looked forward to opening this one. Had to waste a nearly full bottle
I unfortunately have to agree with many who described this as being lacklustre. Sadly, it is not as described in the profile (full bodied with jammy fruit). It is rather light, with moderate acidity, and lacking the depth/boldness that was expected.
Undortunatelly, it was very acidic when we opened the bottle, practically undrincable. Happens with wines. I wanted to report the issue I had, but I couldn’t find how.

Very disappointed. Opened and decanted to accompany Christmas dinner but found it ‘thin’, quite sharp and with no real depth of flavour. Not at all what I was expecting.

Loved the fruity smooth taste, very drinkable
No depth of flavour that you would hope for with a Barolo
A light, easy-drinking Barolo.
This is poor no substance Not like a tipical Barolo
