About the wine
Christian's mouthwatering new Campanian white is bliss in a bottle
-
Hailing from the Campania region in Southern Italy, where the volcanic soils give white wines minerality and longevity, Christian’s mouthwatering new white is made using the Greco di Tufo grape - which was first introduced to the region by the ancient Greeks!
-
Fermented for several weeks for added richness and complexity, if we were to sum this wine up in four words it would be… bliss in a bottle.
-
On the nose expect sweet citrus, apricots, peaches and almonds, with a hint of sage. In the mouth it’s smooth yet refreshing, with a touch of salinity and all those ripe stone fruit flavours coming through.

Meet the winemaker - Christian Patat
- There are legends, Naked legends, and then there’s Christian Patat. A man who turns everything he touches into liquid gold.
- In his day job as a consultant oenologist, Christian travels all over Italy helping lesser mortals make their wines taste amazing. That means he knows where all the best grapes hide out, and is in the box seat to snaffle them before anyone else can get their cheque book out.
- Having learnt his thang in Burgundy, Priorat and all over Italy, Christian knows exactly how to craft sensational wines, the proof of the pudding in his blockbuster Appassimento, nicknamed the ‘Naked Godfather of Big Reds’. It’s one of our most popular wines of all time and sells out every year!

Absolutely beautiful!
Absolutely loved this wine. The sun is shining, ok it's only 17 degrees but it's a start... had this without food, and as the description says, the ripe stone fruit flavours really come through, with a slight dryness to finish... absolutely on my future order list.
The tasting notes were spot on. A smooth, delicious sophisticated white wine to drink on its own or with a vegetable soup. Italy's answer to Chablis.
This evening I'm trying the Christian Patat Greco di Tufo 2023. It's the first time I've had this wine, and as far as I can remember my first Greco.
Initial impressions are curious. It starts off as a little bland, but it has a rich mouthfeel and it lingers, and I'm enjoying it.

Loved it
I drank this on its own but feel it needs food! It has a good solid flavour that coukd stand some wholesome food. I would ebjoy this with stilton. The colur is quite deep and there’s barrelly note that is not too like the chardonny tadte that i dont enjoy. I eiuld enjoy this again for sure.
Found a bit bland for me
Enjoyable enough
I wasn't sure about this at first tasting but actually really enjoyed it. Interesting and a bit different. 4*
