About the wine
Carmen's best-selling Shiraz is big on fruit and big on flavour
- Carmen is one of South Africa's finest winemakers, as one taste of her sumptuous Shiraz quickly illustrates.
- Carmen puts as much TLC into this £7.99 Shiraz as she does into her £20 wines. The grapes were carefully hand-picked through the night, to ensure they didn’t lose any of their deliciously concentrated flavours.
- You can taste Carmen’s care and attention in every sip of this big, fruity, spicy wine. It’s deep, dark, and brimming with rich, plummy fruit, with a kick of peppery spice on the finish that’ll leave you with a lovely warm glow.

Shiraz is one of the most forgiving wines in terms of food pairings. South African Shiraz is your typical BBQ wine because of the spicy expression of the varietal but this wine also pairs well with any cured meats even dark chocolate. I tried this wine with BBQ lamb chops seasoned with salt and pepper, a beautiful combo, please try it!

Meet the winemaker - Carmen Stevens
- From humble roots, Carmen blazed a trail, to become head winemaker at a prestigious winery in South Africa. Her wines won medals by the truckload, yet she couldn’t even get a bank overdraft to start her own business.
- That was until Angel funding allowed her to finally fulfil her dream of setting up her own winery. Carmen has gone from strength to strength ever since, winning countless awards (including being voted your Winemaker of the Decade!)
