About the wine
Think Rioja only produces red wine? Think again...
- In Rioja we have really good conditions for white wines, even if we’ve always been recognized for our reds!
- We had a strike of luck in the region around 25 years ago with the appearance of a new grape variety called Tempranillo Blanco. From one shoot 25 years ago, now we have around 500 hectares in the Rioja region and the possibility to enjoy a delicious new grape variety.
- It’s a fresh and crispy white wine with pear and apple in the nose and a rounded mouth feeling with a great balance. It’s an opportunity for Angels to try something really different and exclusive.

Meet the winemaker - Carlos Rodriguez

Carlos is a highly-respected consultant oenologist, which means he travels all over Spain making other people’s wines taste delicious. He always dreamed that he could start his own winery and make wines with his name on the bottle but he was never able to raise the funds, and he used to joke that he’d need to take a gun to a bank to get the cash he needed!

That all changed in 2010, when someone forwarded our email to Carlos. We were looking for young, talented, Spanish winemakers to fulfill their potential and make wines for us. So he sent us some samples and we loved them so much, we asked him to hop on the next plane to come see us. At first, he thought he was joining a sect when he heard about Angels and Archangels, but the more he heard, the more he liked. And the rest is history…

I love Rioja, white or red I find that it is one of the most reliable of wines. This one has a good balance and has a bit more going on in the background than most white Riojas.

Nice white rioja. Excellent fruit forward flavours with ripe peach being a particular taste. Not very acidic... just a pleasant drinking wine. Recommend.
