Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Big-hitting Chateauneuf de Pape from our man Denis
- Chateauneuf de Pape is in vogue in a BIG way at the moment, so we wanted to make sure we're serving you up with only the best. Enter Denis... without a doubt he's the man for the job, having dedicated his whole career to the love of this particular drop.
- It’s bursting at the seams with dark berries, delicate floral notes, and just a smidge of spice. It's a real big hitter with excellent length that allows your enjoyment of this wine to go on. And on. And on.
- Be warned though, there’s not a lot going around. It’s an increasingly popular appellation so pick up this treasure now because when it's gone, it's gone!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Denis Crespo
- In 2015, a popular winery in the area was in a spot of bother and in need of a helping hand. Denis took up the job of winemaker and turned their old school French winery into a modern business and is already producing some spectacular wines.
- For what he has achieved, he is a very humble man who likes nothing better than a delicious meal with his family and covering some serious distance on his bike. His dream is simply to make fruity, juicy, easy-drinking wines that everyone can enjoy and he is so happy to share them with Angels.
- He was never going to be kept a secret for long and the big dogs of the industry are already cosying up to him with pleading puppy eyes. Trust us, this is just the beginning for Denis and we couldn’t be more excited!

Absolutely stunning wine. Had it with steak and paired beautfully. Shame it is on the expensive aide otherwise would have it every week! Excellent CDP

Going in with Denis Crespo's big red this lunchtime to celebrate an ex-army buddies big Birthday.
It's a cold/wet - so a Boeuf Bourguignonne paired with this should go down a treat.

Arrived 3 days ago but didn't get round to posting here. My wine rack is pretty full but I wanted to take advantage of the sale, so I decided to splash out on 6 more expensive bottles, that could get a small case over the £100 free delivery threshold. All but one of these I'll be trying for the first time:
Terrafusa Civetta 2019
Demoiselles de Puyblanquet St Emilion Grand Cru 2020
Camille Cayran Chateauneuf du Pape Organic 2021
Olivier Cazenave Pomerol 2021
Simpsons of Servian Sparkling Syrah 2022
Diego Spinoglio Tannat 2021
Denis Crespo's CDP is the only one I've tried a previous vintage of, which was spectacular. Bordeaux wines are hit and miss with me but this seemed an opportunity to try a couple at a more reasonable price. I've only had a couple of Uruguayan wines before, and was impressed by both, so looking forward to trying my first from Naked. The Terrsafusa Civetta sounds so unusual I just had to try it and I've only tried sparkling red once and loved it, so the Simpsons one should be a hit.

Big bold nose, dark purple in colour. Long berry finish that smacks of something a bit special. Expensive, but nice as a treat.

Denis's southern Rhone wines are uniformly excellent so the godfather of all of them needs to set a good example and it certainly does. Bursting with lovely ripe fruit and a myriad of subtle flavours this is just pure comfort in a bottle. It doesn't get too heavy either. Ok, the sun these days gives it a high alcohol content but it doesn't slap you in the face. A lovely serious wine.
