About the wine
A unique, characterful and lively Albarino from Portugal's most historic wine region
- This Albarino from the historic northern Portuguese wine making region of Vinho Verde, pays homage to the landscape and the vines that created it with its elegant yet strong character.
- The grapes were picked entirely by hand and treated to a short stay in posh oak barrels, so you can rest assured that this wine has been well prepped for optimum complexity and flavour upon meeting the inside of a bottle.
- With fabulous freshness and acidity, you can expect a wine that will have you covered for every occasion. Light and bright enough to enjoy in the sunshine, whilst having all the structure, body and length you need to see you through the grizzlier weather.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - José Domingues
- Jose started his career as a winemaker at the tender age of 16. He knows the Vinho Verde region better than anybody else.
- Archangels discovered Jose in a blind tasting of Portuguese wines, and fell madly in love… his creations stood head and shoulders above the rest!
- Jose is a seriously passionate and dedicated chap - “I think what makes my wines special is actually the passion and detail that my whole team puts into the work we do... the care of the vineyard, the thoroughness with which we create each wine, so that each wine reveals its maximum potential and character”

Just not to my taste
This is a classy Albariño, but sadly, too fruity for our liking (we do not like NZ Sav Blanc for the same reason?). It’s a classic case of “it’s not you it’s me” and it is clearly a really nice wine, but I’m afraid it was two bottles wasted fir us - I’m so sorry!!

It's OK.... very drinkable with a clean crisp taste that should suit most palates. Does it taste as deep, strong and complex as I'd expect from a 13% white? No....
Perfectly acceptable, but comparable many that are a good 30% cheaper.
Tart, very tasty, went down a treat, regret putting a bit in my paella because I couldn’t just drink it!
Really good with spicy food.
Too dry for me
Another not quite there for the FWC category. But thank you for the experience. Me & Mrs still remain divided over Albariño as a whole. As far as the bottle design goes completely impractical for fridge storage situation however love the lengthy neck reminding me of sunny days sipping in the Mediterranean where these come as standard so appreciate that distinction when having a case arrive. Sampled alongside prawns and plenty of garlic.
Not to my taste; quite acidic, missing the everesance of many vinho verdes.
Another delightful aromatic but also lovely on the palate.
