2008 Sauvignon Blanc
Pure Sauvignon Blanc.... 100% Adelaide Hills The grapes for the Alta 2008 Sauvignon Blanc were sourced from several high altitude vineyards in the heart of the Adelaide Hills wine region. The grapes are actually picked in the middle of the night to improve taste!!! Or is that an old wives tale??..... ;-)
Distinctive taste with a tropical gooseberry and passion fruit, this makes the wine very fresh tasting with ripe limes, tropical guava and lemon grass flavours. Zesty acid taste gives this wine a great lingering taste.
Food match - this works great with seafood.
Good quality wine, had this with a monk fish dish, and it certainly complemented the meal. Would recommend this, and will be buying again.
More wine should come from the Adelaide Hills, more subtle than the Kiwi sauvignons, yet punchier than a Touraine.
Too much like a chardonnay
I am a fan of SB - but not this one. Acidic and bitter.
I actually poured some of it away and thats a 1st! Unfortunately I still have another bottle.
Had this little gem with a Chinese Take Away. I had Squid with Salt and Chilli and the combination of the heat and this wine with Seafood worked really well. Very pleasant to drink and glad we have another bottle to go at shortly!

Lovely fresh Sauvignon Blanc . Dry , sharp and refreshing , with aromas of lemon , lychees and gooseberry ; very different from my favourite SB , ( Seifried's) ; this has no honeyed sweetness at all , and would be good with oily fish .
Serve very chilled and enjoy ; recommended.

I remember giving this a 5 at the OZ House wine tasting.
Somewhere in this wines ancestry a Sauvignon Blanc grape got fruity with an Albariño grape.
I don't doubt its 100% SB, but there is a Mallen Streak of Albariño and I like it.

I am not sure if my bottle was bit off or any other issues but I did not find this wine as inspiring as I was expecting. I kept getting a strange metallic after taste.
