About the wine
A classy, crisp white from the heart of... Rioja? The power of Spanish sunshine knows no bounds!

White grapes have long been an integral part of winemaking in Rioja, but for far too long the red grapes have taken centre stage. Not on Tom’s watch - he’s got some of the oldest and best vines in the region and he’s not afraid to use them.

Tom’s going old school to create a well structured and complex white rioja, which plays a smooth and oaky finish off against the sweet and crisp aromas of pears, peaches and nectarines.

So balanced is this combo, that we’re tempted to class a glass of Flor de Luna as one of your five a day. Either way, it's a great introduction to white Rioja’s for those ready to be wowed!

Meet the winemaker - Tom Puyaubert
Despite calling it home for over 18 years, Tom is known as a foreigner in Rioja. He stands out even more by avoiding the traditional winemaking style of the area; championing instead varieties like Garnacha and Graciano.
It’s tough in Rioja at the moment. With most of the oldest (and best) vineyards belonging to the older generation whose families are now more interested in big city life. Tom says either big commercial wineries must take over or small, independent winemakers should step in and preserve the beauty and history of the land. Cue, Angel Funding!
Tom’s passion and enthusiasm for his region is infectious and he cannot wait for Angels' feedback. Hearing the opinions first hand from his ‘final judges’, as he calls them, is an opportunity he’s never had so form an orderly queue and give a big, Naked welcome to Tom.

Lovely light wine
We’ve tried a few white riojas and thought this tasted by far the best. One of the stand out bottles from the white case we bought a while back and we will definitely buy again.

I'd have this down as a midweek quaffer. It's very easy to drink. There's not a huge amount going on, but I like it. As the bottle says, it's a blend of Viura, Malvasia, and Garnacha Blanca. Medium pale colour. Bordering on medium intensity on the nose. Stone fruit notes along with some oak, apple, and citrus. Medium(-) body. Just a lick of acidity with a medium-ish finish.
I'd happily buy this again.

Found this one pleasant enough, very easy drinking, but a little bland in terms of taste and body. Have had better white Rioja.
