About the wine
Voted for by Angels on our Summer Tasting Tour 2015
- Growing up in Tokaj and helping my father tending the vines, I was fascinated by how different the resulting wines could taste. It wasn't only the different varietals but also the varied soil types each site had that lent vastly differing characters to these wines. This wine is a testament to that.
- Winemakers in Tokaj often use Harslevelu as a secondary blending component. But this vintage just stood out so much it made me realise that it can be the main feature in a blend. I worked to create a spectrum from citrusy to tropical fruity characters whilst retaining a mineral and floral touch. The intensity of the flavours are prolonged by the crisp freshness on the palate.
- Naked Wines is an exciting concept. There only are few initiatives bringing wine personalities up close and personal to wine lovers. I am grateful to be one of these fortunate guys and to be helped in getting more known in the UK. Karoly, Winemaker
