Cantine Bruni Perlaia Vermentino IGP Toscana 2022
About the wine
Robert Parker once named this wonderful Italian white one of the best Vermentinos in the world
-
Marco & Moreno Bruni are Tuscan twins who are super-passionate about their Vermentino. It was the favourite grape variety of their father back in the day, so when the brothers took over the family winery at just 20 years old, they made it their mission to carry on his dream and make the most wonderful, most delicious Vermentino they could. We think he’d be very proud of what they’ve achieved.
-
This wine is so delicious it was once named one of the best Vermentinos on the planet by world-famous wine critic Robert Parker. It’s a late harvest wine made using a selection of the Bruni’s very best grapes, from their coastal vineyards in Maremma, which have been given extra time on the vine to get super-ripe and packed with flavour.
-
It has all the freshness of a classic Vermentino but it’s richer, rounder and more complex. The nose is an explosion of white peaches and pears, flower blossom, lemon and mandarin citrus. And the palate follows on beautifully with some crisp mineral notes and a hint of salinity that’ll leave you dreaming of summer holidays at the Tuscan seaside.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Marco and Moreno Bruni
- Moreno and Marco are the twin force behind Bruni Winery. Born into a long family line of winemakers, the twins have always had a keen interest in working with the vines on their family winery in Maremma, Tuscany.
- But nothing could have prepared the brothers to take charge of the winery at the age of just 20. With the support of their mother Elsa, they've transformed what was originally a tiny 5 hectare plot into a thriving 90 hectare winemaking haven.
- Moreno and Marco, bring a hands-on approach to every step of the winemaking process. Moreno tends to the land and vines, whilst Marco works in the winery, transforming the grapes into top-shelf Sangiovese and Vermentino wines - one of which was even named one of the best Vermentino in the world by Robert Parker!
