Skinners Brewing Co.

Cornwall

Prestigious family-owned brewery with a bitter that can’t be beaten

  • Steve set up shop in 1997 and never looked back - Skinner's has been winning awards and producing innovative new beers ever since.
  • Skinner's is a family business with its roots deeply in the local community. Steve is the first to admit that he and his team don't take anything too seriously (apart from their beer of course).
  • Every pint of Betty begins with barley grown just a couple of miles from the brewery, and malted at Warminster Maltings in Devon - a malthouse that still produces malt in the traditional way.

Skinners Brewing Co.'s Location

In 1997, armed only with his own surname, a chap called Steve Skinner dreamed of setting up a community brewery in Cornwall. On the banks of the Truro River, he and his family brewed a ground-breaking golden ale and named it after the tin-mining faeries of local myth. With Cornish Knocker, Steve set out his stall for concocting trailblazing ales, following it with another legendary brew, a brazen Cornish bitter called Betty Stogs, which CAMRA named Britain's best bitter. Countless barrels and hundreds of awards later, our brewery has grown but remains a family business rooted in the area we live and work, whether that's in sourcing Cornish-grown barley, doing our bit for our corner of the planet. Skinner's are delighted to be working with Naked Wines. They want as many beer lovers as possible around the UK to sample their amazing work and can't wait to get feedback from discerning Naked Angels.
