Working with the Angels and Naked Wines was a wish fulfilled. It was your votes and support that granted us the opportunity to source fruit from premier California regions. This granted us the ability to put more focus on the winemaking process and produce a wine that we are excited and proud to present to you.
This sexy, voluptuous wine answers your palate's thirst for an oaked and buttery Chardonnay. Ripe, juicy tropical flavors on the lush palate are accented by creamy notes of vanilla and caramel. Eddy bought a bottle of his Mago on tour and Angels went wild for it so we shook hands and took the lot. He's pleased as punch with his third wine for Angels and we reckon it's destined for greatness.
The name pays homage to the ancient wine buff, Mago, who wrote some of the earliest works on viticulture; teaching the ancient Greeks and Romans a thing or two about winemaking!
Angels who crack it open now can expect an elegant fruit bomb of a red, but as it ages, the lush oakiness will break onto centre stage and enter a delicious duet with all that fruit. It's a win-win really!

Oscar's brand new wine is something really rather special. It comes from a 60 year old vineyard planted by his grandparents on the family's historic Douro Valley land. It's a hugely important place for Oscar, who with his sister, fought to save these vines from being dug up and replaced with higher yielding, profitable fruit.
Intervening as little as possible, Oscar has captured the fantastic intensity of the fruit (proving good things do come in small packages) and the character of the high-altitude vineyard, paying tribute to his grandparents.
The palate is smooth and fruit forward, pure and silky, offering up that characteristic Douro bite with perfectly balanced acidity. The finish is pure, clean as a whistle and has a triumphantly long and elegant finish complete with lingering floral flavours, fresh berries and some spice to tickle the tongue.

After years under the thumb of corporate wineries Connie managed to break free and, thanks to Angel funding, something rather special has been happening in recent years; growers are now coming to her with their grapes instead of going to the giant wineries that dominate the Chilean wine industry.
Central Valley is one of the prime wine areas in Chile for growing top-notch red grapes and, for this Grenache, Carignan, Mouverdre blend, inspired by her love by Mediterrenean blends. She harvested day by day to make sure each grape was at its optimum ripeness and then left the wine in plush French oak barrels for months.
The result? A fresh, fruity red that’s beautifully balanced and boasts a lusciously long finish. Without your support this wine would never have happened so give yourselves a big pat on the back for being a huge part of Connie's success.

My Rebel Shiraz is made with grapes from 4 different vineyards. The real trick is to wait for the full, ripe flavours to develop in the vineyard. After leaving the grapes to cold soak for a couple of days they're pressed and matured separately before blending into the final balanced wine.
