Best before
The wine is enjoyable now, and that will be enhanced in its youth with some aeration. I feel it will be enjoyable for 2-5 years from release.
Serving advice
Enjoy the wine at a temperature of 60-65F. That's slightly cool on the palate. From room temperature, usually 45 minutes or so in the fridge will do it. Definitely give it a bit of breathing time. Pour a few ounces in a glass and give it at least 15-20 minutes, alternatively you can decant or us an aerator.
Food match
I've always felt roast or grilled lamb is the best match for Merlot. Try it with grilled lamb loin chops and a medley of roasted vegetables.
