Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
A plush Merlot blend from one of Bordeaux's smallest and most exclusive appellations
- Our man on the ground Olivier has been making wine in Bordeaux since 2003 and has connections all over the region. So when we challenged him to make a super delicious Bordeaux from one of the region’s most niche appellations, he said ‘easy peasy’.
- With only 740 hectares to its name Pomerol is pretty teeny, but it has a mega reputation for rich, smooth, and thoroughly approachable Merlot-lead wines. Everyone’s clammering to get hold of a parcel but you need to have a foot in the door to seal the deal.
- With your backing Olivier was able to call dibs on a mouthwatering parcel and create the ultimate deep, dark and brooding Merlot blend exclusively for you. With laser focused dark fruited concentration, complexity, and a delightfully naughty spiciness to round everything off with finesse.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Olivier Cazenave
- Olivier Cazenave is a rare breed... the most radical wine grower you'll find in the historically posh and stuffy Bordeaux region.
- He developed a taste for wine aged 17, but Olivier didn’t realise he could turn his passion into a career until he was 40. He started making wine in 2003, in the middle of a downturn in the region “you would have to be crazy to buy a property in Bordeaux in 2003”.
- Olivier may hail from an ultra-famous wine region, but you probably haven’t heard of him... and that’s a good thing. He’s one of the region’s best kept secrets and he wants to prove that you can find outstanding value in Bordeaux.
