About the wine
Glenn's silky-smooth Aussie Merlot stands up to posh 20-year-aged Bordeaux
-
You’d struggle to find an Aussie Merlot with the same pedigree - and at this price - as Glenn’s Lagoon View drop. It’s meticulously made from prime Goulburn Valley fruit, lovingly aged in French and American oak for 18 months, and shows the same kind of evolution in complexity of flavour after 8 years of aging as fine Bordeaux wines do after 20 years.
-
It’s full-bodied with bags of cherry and plum aromas on the nose. Very fruit forward with black cherry, dark chocolate, hints of coffee, and a long-lasting finish typical of a super-high-quality wine.
-
Big and bold, yet also smooth, elegant, moreish and an utter dream with food. Great wines like this only come around once in a blue moon, and we think Angels will still be talking about it 10 years from now.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Glenn Eberbach
-
Glenn’s passion for wine was sparked at the tender age of 10, after he was put in charge of bottle-washing at his school’s annual wine fundraiser. All grown up, and having honed his craft at top-ranking Yarra Valley wineries - followed by stints in Italy, then King Valley and Rutherglen, Oz - he’s now got over 20 years’ experience under his belt, and since 2017 makes award-winning wines as chief winemaker at the sweeping Trifon Estate in Goulburn Valley, Victoria.
-
Goulburn Valley is a goldmine for premium Aussie wines and Glenn has access to some of the very best fruit at his Lagoon View vineyards. His grapes here benefit from nutrient-rich soils, pure spring water, and a cool (for Australia) climate, which allows him to produce elegant and complex wines that are full to the brim with fruit.
-
Glenn’s one of a number of Aussie winemakers who were hit hard by Chinese tariffs, leaving him with loads of premium nectar that might’ve gone to waste. Thankfully, our mates at Naked Australia came to the rescue, and now that he’s part of the Naked family, you get to enjoy his top-shelf wines too.
