Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
An elegant Spanish red made from a grape most people have never heard of
-
Nuria and Rafael are among the very few producers who still grow old-vine Garnatxa Peluda. It’s a native evolution of Garnacha that’s perfectly adapted to the dry, arid conditions of their Terra Alta region in Spain, due to tiny hairs on the back of the vine’s leaves that help slow down the loss of water. Hence its name, Peluda, which is French for ‘lots of hair’. Who knew!
-
This premium, 100%-Garnatxa Peluda red has won tons of awards in the past, so Nuria and Rafael are keen to share it with Angels too. And in doing so, they hope to spread even more love and attention to this often-overlooked grape with huge potential.
-
It’s as soft and supple a Spanish red as you’ll drink all year. On the nose it has notes of raspberry and spices, with a bit of herbaceousness. On the tongue it’s fresh and full of cherries and ripe red summer fruits. It’s instantly pleasurable, with lovely length, and a naughty kick of black peppercorns and cloves at the end.

Food match
This is a delicious, succulent barbecue-friendly red. But would also pair brilliantly with a chop of lamb with mustard crust.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Núria Altés and Rafael de Haan
- Núria Altés comes from a long line of grape-growers. From playing in her grandfather’s vines as a child to bottling her first wine with her father’s grapes, Núria is proud of her winemaking roots. So in 2010 Núria and her partner Rafael set up a little winery in the Terra Alta region - called Herència Altés.
- What makes their wines so special is the grapes come exclusively from Núria's family vineyards which host a selection of seasoned old vines ranging from 40 to 90 years old. In other words you're getting impeccable concentrated flavours you don't find on the average supermarket shelf.
- They’ve gone from strength to strength, picking up awards and Parker Points galore. That was until Covid-19 turned their world upside down. Luckily, 3,000 Angels stepped in and snapped up a case of their premium wines. Angel support means they can plan their future harvests with confidence.
