About the wine
Boutique winemaking at it's finest - no-one knows how to make the Godello grape sing like the Otero's
- Benito’s Para Muestra Un Botón hails from El Bierzo, a very small region in the northwest of Spain, which has been steadily making a name for itself over the last decade for the extraordinary quality of its wines and their distinctive character.
- Godello white grapes are considered the variety par excellence in El Bierzo. And with good reason - it's particularly fresh with very good acidity and structure. Not to mention, Benito’s family have been working with the grape for three generations, so there are very few who know how to make it sing quite like they do.
- It’s an incredibly versatile wine with a gorgeous pale greenish yellow colour. The nose is intense with stone and white fruit aromas, citrus notes and a mineral background, revealing its time spent in oak barrels. On the palate it is surprisingly fresh, with good acidity and an ever so delicate touch of sweetness.
Best before
This is an excellent wine for cellaring - you can keep it lying down for as long as you can resist. It will only improve with time!
Serving advice
Best served lightly chilled, allowing the flavours to unfurl in the glass. Decanting is also recommended before serving, but not essential.
Food match
Perhaps with a good baked fish, or white meat cooked on the grill... But really, the only essential is that you enjoy this wine in good company.

Meet the winemaker - Benito Otero
- We couldn’t be more excited to have Benito join us as part of the Naked family - and for Benito, family means everything. His small boutique winery was founded by his grandfather 80 years ago, and can be found tucked away in El Bierzo, a true gem of a region in northwestern Spain.
- An oenologist and total wine nerd, Benito approaches winemaking with serious creativity and passion. It’s his lifes work to continue his grandfather's legacy by meticulously crafting wines that pay justice to their land, their years of research, and personal commitment to winemaking.
- In Bierzo, the white variety par-excellence is Godello. And there are few winemakers who know how to make this authentic Spanish grape shine better than Benito. He specialises in making fresh, elegant, and well structured Godello wines from his range of premium, organically farmed vineyards. A true perfectionist, his effortlessly classy wines just dance across the palate.
