Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Ultra-premium Stellenbosch Cabernet from one of South Africa's hottest up-and-coming winemaking talents
- Angel funding is often the difference between safe, predictable wines and exciting ventures. Most winemakers wouldn't give lonely, knarled old vines on a rusted trellis system a second look, but they caught Rudi Schultz's attention, and with your backing, he was able to turn them into something special.
- This wine is a big, warming hug-in-a-glass Cabernet with lush, juicy blackcurrant and cherry flavours. Each soft, creamy mouthful, thanks to time spent in posh oak barrels, is balanced by a silky smooth and satisfying finish.
- Rudi says "French oak barrels and Cabernet Sauvignon from Stellenbosch aren't cheap, this was a pricey wine to make. Without Angel help, it would have been an enormous challenge to pull off."

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Rudi Schultz
Rudi Schultz hails from something of a golden generation, having grown up in a family of 5 brothers, three of them would eventually go on to become winemakers.
Having learnt his craft under the tutelage of SA wine legend Gyles Webb, Rudi launched his own winery in 2002 and caught the attention of critics straight away, with rave reviews for his maiden vintage Syrah. Since then, he’s made a string of critically-acclaimed, top-shelf wines from Stellenbosch and the Western Cape, which you now get to enjoy first-hand.
In his spare time, Rudi teaches surfing and ocean safety in his local community. In fact, he’s such a keen surfer, all of his wines are named after famous surf spots. So just pour yourself a glass of Pepper Street and dive right in. Cowabunga!
