About the wine
A super-pure, expressive Merlot from one of the oldest wine regions in Bordeaux
-
Sylvie’s sumptuous Château Le Lau Merlot comes from Graves de Vayres, one of the oldest appellations in Bordeaux. Prized for their incredible body and finesse, the best wines of this region have been highly sought-after for centuries. When you get a taste of Sylvie’s kit you’ll understand why.
-
The secret ingredient is Graves de Vayres’ super-gravelly soils, which are absolute heaven for pure, expressive Merlot wines like this one. And as a committed organic winemaker, Sylvie is all about celebrating those natural fruit flavours.
-
This has all the hallmarks of a top-notch, classic red, with deep, ripe, concentrated red fruit flavours that gush from nose to palate, and a full-bodied and fresh mouthfeel. It’s a wine that’ll bring you joy all year round - the perfect match for warming winter roasts and summer bbqs alike.

Food match
Sylvie says you can enjoy her wine with any kind of food, just as long as it's tasty, seasonal and most-importantly... organic. We reckon it's a great shout for sunday roast chicken or a charcuterie full of meats and cheeses.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Sylvie Plomby
From couture to Château, Sylvia started her career in the fashion industry - running both a high-flying boutique and a jewellery brand in Paris. She travelled around the world chasing fine fabrics until 2013 when she decided to put it all on pause to return to her roots and her family winery, Château Le Lau in Bordeaux.
After retraining as a winemaker, Sylvia took up the new and exciting project of restoring her family’s historic vineyards to their former glory. The oceanic climate and totally unique soil was ideal for producing mouthwatering Merlot, Malbec and Cab Sav.
All that was needed was a winemaker with the vision and drive to turn them into top quality, super stylish Bordeaux wines.
