About the wine
Show-stopping red from a teeny-tiny producer of handcrafted Portuguese wines
- Mário Negreiros has been working his little cotton socks off on his latest project - made possible thanks to your Angel funding.
- From the first sip of this huge, full-bodied red, think of the freshest, most succulent black cherry you’ve ever scoffed, with just a rumour of pepper and dark chocolate on the finish. Then double it.
- As the ultimate thank you, Mário even named this vintage ‘Nu’, which means ‘Naked’ in Portuguese. It’s a wine he’s made specially for you, with love. Ahhh

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Mario and Catarina Negreiros
- On the banks of the Douro river lies Quinta das Amendoeiras. Home to the Negreiros family for generations, it was handed down to Mario in 2002 whose dream it was to make wine under the family name - rather than see the grapes carted off to Cockburns porthouse.
- Just two years later the first ‘Negreiros’ wine appeared. Shortly after that a group of our Archangels came across them on a tasting trip and, as the saying goes, the rest is history!
- By 2017, production had grown 400%. Luckily Mario’s daughter, Catarina, couldn’t wait to start helping out and they became an unbeatable father-daughter duo. Their talent spilled over from winemaking into hospitality when they opened their own B&B in the stunning grounds of Quinta das Amendoeiras - time to grab your passport and head for Portugal!
