Taking after her dad, Serena's blossomed into a truly exceptional winemaker with standout wines from Piedmont and Moldova
-
Serena’s been delighting Angels for years with the top-shelf Italian wines she makes alongside her dad in Piedmont, like Barolo and Gavi di Gavi. Now, she’s also blazing new trails with a set of stunning Moldovan whites that’ve gone gangbusters. We can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve next.
-
Serena knew from an early age she wanted to follow in the family footsteps… ‘I was 7 years old. Probably as a daughter in love with her dad, it was inevitable :-)’. She’s blossomed into a super-talented winemaker and is making her father proud with every bottle she makes.
-
Angel support helps Serena continue her family legacy, creating wines from the very same patch her grandad farmed years ago - and it’s also giving her the opportunity to discover new, off-the-beaten-track wines like her Moldovan gems. That’s why she’s so grateful and proud to share her kit with UK wine-lovers like you.

Serena Cordero's Story
"Ciao Angels!
It's Serena Cordero - together with my father Gianfranco we make wines in Piedmont, in the Northern part of Italy, which we're very proud to now be able to share with all of you.
My father was born in 1958 in Priocca d'Alba, in the Roero Area, one of the most important lands for viticulture in Piedmont. Coming from a farmer's family he suddenly started his study in Oenology at the age of 14 (even though his parents wanted him to focus on religion and prayer)! In 25 years of his career, he created, first of all, an oenological laboratory and then became a winemaking group consultant.
Then this passion for the wine world was transmitted to me - since I was a child I decided to follow in my father's footsteps. After I graduated at the University of Viticulture and Oenology in Turin, we began working together.
We started producing our own wine in 2006 when we decided to take on my grandfather Teresio's vineyard, located near the house where my father was born. It's a way to keep on working in his father's memory.
Working together as a father and daughter is not so easy as it would seem to be, but our common passion for this job and great patience is the secret!
There is nothing better than to create something so special as wine with your own hand, starting from planting the vineyard to bottling your final product. It really makes you feel one with the earth! And it is in our wines themselves that you see the expression and the result of our coming together, our contrasting personalities, so far but so close to each other at the same time. That's the result of the ideas and experiences of an old bearded man and a young crazy girl!
Every moment in this job is great. For my father the best one is meeting with customers who appreciate our wines and the story behind them. My favourite part is all the time spent in the vineyard and in the cellar. Especially in the harvest period, when days and nights spent hard working near the tank are not so difficult for me. Sure the preferred moment for us both is the 'ending harvest' party, a dinner with friends and colleagues, drinking good wines, having fun and talking about the work we've done.
Every day we try to work harder and harder in order to let our land (Alba and the Roero area) be known all over the world.
Making wine is our job, but also our greatest passion and we are really happy to share our product with all of you, my dear Angels!"
