Award winning winemaker from Central Victoria who had over 50% of his business cancelled overnight with Chinese tariffs
-
Glenn’s passion for wine was sparked at the tender age of 10, after he was put in charge of bottle-washing at his school’s annual wine fundraiser. All grown up, and having honed his craft at top-ranking Yarra Valley wineries - followed by stints in Italy, then King Valley and Rutherglen, Oz - he’s now got over 20 years’ experience under his belt, and since 2017 makes award-winning wines as chief winemaker at the sweeping Trifon Estate in Goulburn Valley, Victoria.
-
Goulburn Valley is a goldmine for premium Aussie wines and Glenn has access to some of the very best fruit at his Lagoon View vineyards. His grapes here benefit from nutrient-rich soils, pure spring water, and a cool (for Australia) climate, which allows him to produce elegant and complex wines that are full to the brim with fruit.
-
Glenn’s one of a number of Aussie winemakers who were hit hard by Chinese tariffs, leaving him with loads of premium nectar that might’ve gone to waste. Thankfully, our mates at Naked Australia came to the rescue, and now that he’s part of the Naked family, you get to enjoy his top-shelf wines too.

Glenn Eberbach's Story
“Dear Angels,
Our Lagoon View wines were originally destined for Export but unfortunately due to the recent tariff hike introduced by China on Australian wines, all our export of Lagoon View wines to China have now stopped.
Like Naked Wines, we don't care for the politics, but we do care about the flow on affect which has impacted Australian wine exports lately and our family-owned single estate, Goulburn Valley vineyard.
We sincerely thank our Naked Wines Angels as your continuing support contributes to benefit our employees, seasonal contractors and winemaking chain.
We know you will enjoy our Lagoon View 2013 red wines and we look forward to delivering you more award winning, single estate wines in the future.
Thank you, Angels!”
- Glenn & the team
Glenn’s introduction to wine started at the tender age of 10 as the senior assistant bottle-washer for his primary school’s annual wine fundraiser - this is what sparked his interest in wine as an art and science.
He completed a Double Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Winemaking at Charles Sturt University and worked in the Yarra Valley for three top ranking wineries.
To further his knowledge and expertise, he spent several years in Italy running a state of the art 5000 tonne winery and working in collaboration with a number of wineries.
After working in Italy, he returned to Australia - with his beloved 1969 Fiat 500 in tow - as a contract winemaker in the King Valley making wines for a diverse array of wineries. He also spent time in Australia’s premier fortified region of Rutherglen making world-class Fortified wines.
He finally joined Trifon Estate as Chief Winemaker in 2017, bringing over 20 years’ winemaking experience with him. Glenn is fully devoted to producing exceptional memorable wines. The clean air, fertile soil, and abundant water supply of the single estate vineyard provides him with grapes of the highest quality.“The Naked Wines '#Stop the Squeeze Campaign' and Angel’s support are assisting us by redirecting our award-winning quality wines originally destined for export. This will assist towards the ongoing sustainability of our vineyard and winemaking. In turn, we can continue delivering great award-winning wines to the Angels.”
