Simpsons of Barham Court Chardonnay 2021
Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll add a credit to your account. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Charles and Ruth's delicious still English wine
- Charles and Ruth have spent the majority of their winemaking careers in the South of France, but their dream was always to return to their roots, making English wine in Blighty. Your backing also gave them the confidence to do just that!
- They hand harvested Chardonnay grapes from their vineyards nestled amongst the rolling hills around Canterbury and set about making one of their first still English wines. If ever there was a year it was going to work, it was this one.
- The result is a refreshing, zingy, lemony sensation! Close your eyes and you could be drinking a glass of delicious Chablis...just without a big dent in your wallet. The Simpsons are so thankful for Angel’s unwavering support and hope you love drinking this Chardonnay as much as they loved making it!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Charles and Ruth Simpson
- In 2002, Charles & Ruth took a leap into the unknown. They quit their dull, corporate jobs. Hopped on the first plane to France. And bought up their own little patch of grape-growing land in Southern France.
- It turned out to be an inspired move. Since then their delicious, Angel-exclusive wines haven’t stopped scooping IWC and Decanter World Wine Awards and rave reviews from wine-critic royalty.
- Not content to rest on their laurels in France, they set their sights on another opportunity, making English wine in Blighty. Your backing also gave them the confidence to do just that! In 2014 they returned to their roots and planted their first English vineyard near Canterbury.
