We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.

About the wine
Ben hand-picked the very best parcels of Languedoc grapes to create this juicy Grenache with a rare match of sophistication and power

When Ben first launched this mouthwatering Grenache in 2018, it was only supposed to be a one-off. A special parcel he’d sourced from a Languedoc mate. But when Angels tasted it, they fell in love at first sip, and pretty much demanded a second vintage. So we gave Ben the freedom and the funds to make this wine his own, and make it even better.

With its hardy ancient vines, warm Mediterranean sunshine and cooling windy hillsides, the Languedoc has ideal conditions for producing juicy, late-maturing fruit that’s full of flavour. And Ben was painstaking in his search to find and use only the cream of its Grenache crop.

Finally, he went to work in the winery, combining his skills as a master blender with his intimate knowledge of Angel tastebuds to create this rich and silky red that’s become a must-have for fans of Ben and his wines. It’s packed full of juicy fresh raspberries and strawberries with a dark delicious undercurrent of sweet spice. As close as you’ll get to Chateauneuf-du-Pape quality in the Languedoc.

Meet the winemaker - Benjamin Darnault
- When Ben left a safe winemaking job in Australia to move back to France with his young family in the noughties, at first he really struggled. The financial crash of 2007/08 clobbered the winery he was working at, so they had to let him go. He couldn’t catch a break.
- That was until Angels freed Ben from the corporate fat cats and transformed his livelihood. Thanks to Angels, Ben was finally able to set up on his own and realise his lifelong dream of putting his own name on the label. Even better, he had an advance on his next vintage!
- With Angel support, Ben has been able to invest more, source even better fruit and establish strong relationships with local growers to improve the quality of his delicious wines year-on-year. With thousands of rave reviews, he’s a bonafide Naked icon.
