Michaud Columbia Valley Riesling 2017
About the wine
Because there is never a bad time to drink Riesling
Angel funding allowed Katy to make full use of an exceptional year for Riesling in 2017 and combine grapes from two vineyards to create a beautifully balanced treat just for us.
This one’s a fruit-forward smasher, with notes of peach, pear and exotic fruits, plus a minerality that gives it a delightful crispness. This is new-world, off-dry style at it’s best!
Three things that Katy loves about this grape? Its amazing aromatics. Its terrific value for money. And its incredible ability to age well. Say no more, we’re sold!
Best before
This should be ready to go upon delivery, will age for a few years but no reason not to open and drink right away.
Serving advice
ItÂ’s a screw cap, just grip and turn. Take note of the satisfying bridge breakÂ…Temperature is important. It effects how the wine is read. I like the wines out of the refrigerator for 10 or so min. I would guess that would be 45-50F. 45F seems cold and so the wine is a little more closed. As days get hotter, the temp of the wine should get colder.
Food match
Thai food.. This wine pairs well with curry. This wine really balances well against a little heat. I also enjoy this with cheese, a light brie is my favourite. The acid from the wine helps cut through the creaminess of the cheese.
Contains sulphites
